The Second Generation
Two generations. One avenue.
Vicox Legal is a second-generation Marbella boutique. The family legal practice has counselled on Avenida Ricardo Soriano since 1977. In 2017, Vicente Ortiz founded Vicox to carry that practice forward into a new asset class — without losing the slow, considered register that made the firm a destination for international families in the first place.

The avenue.
If you have ever bought property on the Costa del Sol, registered a holding structure with a foothold in Spain, or coordinated a cross-border succession involving a Marbella villa, the address has probably crossed your file at some point: Avenida Ricardo Soriano. It is the legal spine of this city — the place where the major Spanish, international, and family-office firms have kept addresses for decades.
Vicente Ortiz Sr. opened the family practice on this avenue in 1977. The brief from day one was the same as today: serve the international families who chose Marbella for the climate and stayed for the children, the property, and the discreet decades. Real estate. Wealth structures. Cross-border succession. The slow architecture of a life lived across countries.
Almost half a century of that work happened in the same conference room — the same travertine table the firm still meets at today. Continuity, in this practice, is not a marketing line. It is a fact you can point to on a street map.
The second generation.
Vicente Ortiz Jr. trained as a lawyer in the family practice. He inherited the discipline of the old firm — the fixed-fee engagement, the named price before the named work, the lawyer who answers the phone — and he also inherited something the older firm could not have anticipated: a generation of international clients whose wealth no longer lived in property and bonds alone. It lived on chains.
In 2017, Vicente Jr. founded Vicox to be the firm that handles both — the Marbella property closing on Tuesday and the MiCA-compliant token issuance on Thursday. Same team, same conference table, same standard of counsel. New asset class. New jurisdictions. New regulatory architecture that did not exist when the family practice opened.
Practice Areas
From generational wealth to digital assets under one roof.
The audience.
International families and high-net-worth buyers — multi-generational wealth that crosses borders. The property anchor on the Costa del Sol. Succession that involves more than one tax authority. Residency strategy across two or three jurisdictions. This is the firm’s oldest and deepest competence — two generations of practice.
Crypto HNWIs and UHNWIs — high and ultra-high-net-worth individuals whose wealth includes digital assets. Diversifying into property. Structuring across borders. Protecting privacy and control. The only fluent crypto bench of its kind, with the property and tax depth to make the diversification land cleanly.
Founders, funds, and operators — entrepreneurs and institutional vehicles building across asset classes — equity, token, property, operating businesses. One legal team across three jurisdictions: Luxembourg holding architecture, Spanish operating companies, Portuguese residency. MiCA- compliant from issuance to ongoing operation.
three principles
The standard.
The firm operates on three principles, each named in the brand book and each enforced in every engagement:
The price is named before the work begins.
One firm, four jurisdictions, every asset class.
The lawyer you spoke with is the lawyer who handles the work.

The address.
Vicox Legal occupies a top-floor suite in Edificio Azahara — the same building the family practice has worked from for nearly half a century. Brass plaque at the entrance, etched glass at reception, the conference table at the centre. The firm meets clients in this room before agreeing to take a matter; it is, in a quiet way, part of the engagement.
